OLYMPICS UPDATE: U.S. Women’s Basketball
The U.S. women’s basketball team defeated China 114 to 66 on Sunday, August 5 in London and secured their spot in the quarterfinals. Georgia was represented by the Atlanta Dream’s Angel McCoughtry and Lawrenceville native Maya Moore.    Gold is the only color the Americans have known at the last four Olympic games. Let’s hope they keep the streak going.  The U.S. will play Canada next.    Australia, silver medalists at the last three Olympics, goes up against China in the next match-up.   Australia and the Americans would meet in the semi-finals,  if both teams win their quarter-final game.
